Rick Roco is a contemporary pop surrealist painter based in the Bay Area whose exhibition “VOYEUR” opens Summer 2026 in Los Angeles, California.
Rick Roco was recently named one of the Bay Area’s Top 5 Most Popular Pop Surrealist Artists, and collectors have been aggressively pursuing his work. Every single micro-collection he has released has sold out — often within days — with secondary collectors already describing his paintings as “one of the strongest emerging investment plays in the contemporary art market.” Industry analysts are already calling this period the inflection point year for Roco — where his market transitions from niche cult favorite to global collectible category.
VOYEUR was inspired by Roco’s current collaboration with a film director on a feature project slated for release in 2027. The series explores psychological intimacy and the surreal eroticism of being viewed, interpreted, and desired from multiple unseen dimensions. The new works are more volumetric, more three-dimensional, and more filmic than anything Roco has ever produced — pushing pop surrealism into a cinematic hyperreality.
Roco states:
“Being able to share these visions with the world… and to have people actually connect with them and fight to own them — it’s surreal. I’m humbled by all of it. The fact that collectors believe in me this deeply is one of the greatest feelings an artist can experience.”
The exhibition is invitation-only. Official opening date announcement coming soon.
Roco is also preparing to release his first published art book and is finalizing a collaboration with a major collectible toy manufacturer — expanding his visual universe beyond canvas into physical, limited edition sculptural culture.
About Rick Roco
Rick Roco (b. 1998) is a contemporary pop surrealist painter from the Bay Area known for darkly cinematic oil paintings that fuse fantasy worldbuilding with psychological realism. His work blends classical technique, high gloss finish, and uncanny narrative detail that feels both dreamlike and uncomfortably plausible. Roco’s limited micro-collections have sold out rapidly and secondary collectors have begun positioning his paintings as high-upside emerging blue chip investments. His visual language moves between hyperreal figuration, whimsical cultural symbolism, and the new surrealist movement evolving from the West Coast underground. Rick Roco releases originals, editions, and exhibition announcements exclusively through Emerald Thinker Gallery.
